All paintings are done in acrylic with semi gloss finish. Upon purchasing, I will apply a glaze to protect from UV light.

Commissioned work

If you see a picture that calls to you and has been sold, I would be happy to commission to repaint it.

It would be impossible to paint it exactly as it was originally, as each painting guides my work. However, we could end up with a work that has a similar feeling with its unique nuances. It is a welcoming adventure to follow a painting through a somewhat familiar journey and allow a new expression to emerge.

Painting styles

Broken color

Some of my work is very structured. My broken color pieces begin with a single color background. In it I play with different realistic representations that may or may not make sense to the logical mind. often, I am not consciously aware as to the relationship between the forms.

I follow my intuition over what my intellect finds questionable, allowing the work itself to speak to me and others. The pieces are broken down by color gradients, emerging together only when the piece is finished. These pieces are large in size and are best appreciated from a further distance.

My latest work is a series of Buddha pictures.

Landscape and nature work

I am most inspired to beauty as I experience it in nature. I faint flowers and landscapes guided by the feelings they arise in me. I respond to their physical form, allowing myself the freedom to play with their energy, enchanted by the dance with light and shadow. It is not the attention to detail that engages me in this work. It is the wild, untamed freedom to be immersed in the painting as it becomes what it is meant to be.

Female form

I have worked as a healer in women's health for the last 35 years. It was not a surprise that the calling to delve into painting as a spiritual practice was focused on the female body and the expression of the female experience.

In many ways it was on itself a portal into deeper water within me. I occasionally continue to paint the feminine world, witnessing its expression evolving as I evolve, sometimes drawing me in with incredible passion.

I have noticed that the colors I use have changed. Purple used to be dominant, now the picture is not done until red has bathed its surface.

Abstract

My exploration of color, light and energy seems at its purest expression in my abstract work. In it there is endless possibility.
